About The Good Bolster….

I am mum to my boy Roki, who has a severe brain injury. Long story short I recently began sharing with the world all the gifts and lessons I have learnt from Roki. I am hosting regular Yoga&Sound evenings and small retreats. I needed bolsters but had no money to buy a full set. So…I asked the local community for donations or unwanted blankets, linen, textiles, clothing.

In my first lot of donations came beautiful vintage 100% wool blankets and A LOT of sheets. I decided to make the outer from the wool blankets and fill the bolster with a solid core or rolled up towels and sheets and then shaping it with other material scraps and old pillow stuffing.

In my first batch of bolsters I managed to clear a huge pile of unwanted linen and clothing that would have gone into landfill. Hooray! And it is something I can do whilst caring for Roki at home. I love to sew and my clever mum taught me how to do it very well, I am a good seamstress, my sister says I can do magic with my sewing machine that I got at the age of 9.

Why the good bolster? In my search for a venue with heart and integrity and came across The Good Humans Warehouse in Brookvale. Jye who started this initiative is creating a space where community can gather, we can host events and share our events on a platform that he is shaping. I love that I found an awesome space where I can share my events with integrity and intent.

For every bolster I sell I donate $10 towards Good Humans initiative. So not only does it provide income for us as a family, give me a creative outlet, it also helps to recycle unwanted clothing and linen plus it supports the Good Humans initiative, so there it is very deserving of the name The Good Bolster!

To buy or oder one please get in touch with me. I have not quite had the time to list them individually, I have loads that I have made and can custom make ones too.

I am always on the lookout for wool blankets and also good clean unwanted linen.

I thank you for listening to my story.

When I saw “The Good Bolsters” , I instantly knew I’d found “the one”. Beautiful woollen blankets are something I love, for the nostalgia and the warmth…. So I couldn’t resist. Mine did not disappoint. The perfect density, size and shape, all wrapped in pure wool, which feels like a warm hug. So glad I waited, the bolster is just perfect, and all made by Ina’s love ~ Joy

“Ina’s handcrafted yoga bolster is made with beautifully soft fabric. The plush filling gives it the perfect balance of firmness and softness, supporting me through many of my stretches. The bright, earthy yellow colour is an added delight!”-Ruvi
